November 15, 2018 -- London, UK

Roger faced the only undefeated player from his group today, Kevin Anderson. Anderson, who has been having one of the best years of his career, came out swinging, but the Swiss Star had a response.

While he may have struggled in his first match at the O2 Arena, the 37-year old was in command today. He did everything he needed to do to book his spot into the semifinals and come away with a 6-4, 6-3 win over the big serving South African.

"We’re used to you lose, you leave and you don’t hang around. So from that standpoint, I think it was more straightforward for me today," Roger said on court after his win. "I’ve always wanted to go out with a bang today and win the match. If I go through, great, if I don’t well I don’t deserve to be through and that’s okay, too. I’m happy I’m still alive."

Both Roger and Anderson move on from their group, while Nishikori and Thiem are out.

The other section plays tomorrow to see who will make it into the semis, although Djokovic has already reserved his spot with his 2-0 record.
