Roger Joins ATP Player Council
August 8, 2019
Roger has been elected to join the ATP player council. Joining him will also be Rafael Nadal and Jurgen Melzer. The openings on the council came about when Jamie Murray, Robin Haase and Sergiy Stakhovsky resigned this past June.
It is no secret it has been a bit of a turbulent year for the ATP Player Council with the ATP President being ousted in March and board member, Justin Gimelstob, resigning in May after some personal issues off the court and being sentenced for assault.
The concil is currently led by Novak Djokovic and is made up of 12 men which include, singles and doubles players, as well as coaches. They meet next in New York before the US Open.
