After winning 3 ATP Awards last week, Roger took to the court in the O2 Arena for his first match at the NITTO ATP Finals. The number 2 player in the world took on American, Jack Sock. The Swiss star looked comfortable and cool under pressure on the court after some time off skipping the Rolex Paris Masters. After taking the first set, the flashy American had a chance to serve out the second set, but Roger performed solid under pressure allowing him to push the match to a tiebreak, clinching his 50th win of 2017, 6-4, 7-6 (4).
Roger is in the Boris Becker Group and will play again on Tuesday against Alexander Zverev.

The ATP World Tour Awards were presented yesterday in London before the Nitto ATP Finals begin. Roger came away with three big awards after his incredible 2017. He was voted by fans as this year's ATPWorldTour.com Fan Favourite player for the 15th year in a row. He also won the Comeback Player of the Year Award as well as the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award for the 13th time in his career. Since 2003, Roger has collected 36 awards.
Roger will begin play at the ATP World Tour Finals this weekend.

Roger is in Glasgow this evening playing an exhibition with Andy Murray.
All proceeds from the event will be donated between Unicef and a local Scottish charity.
The exhibition will begin at 7.30pm British time.

October 29, 2017 -- Basel, Switzerland
Roger clinched his hometown title on Sunday after defeating Juan Martin del Potro 6-7, 6-4, 6-3. The roller coaster match was the 4th time this year the two have met. A set down, Roger never panicked and fought back to win his 8th title Swiss Indoors Title.
"The crowd really enjoyed themselves and at the end there is always going to be a winner unfortunately in tennis. But I think we both can be very happy with the week today."
Having grown up in Basel and serving as a ball boy for the Basel tournament in his youth, this victory means so much to Roger. He treated ballkids to a post-match pizza party which has become a tradition in the 11 years he has made the final in Basel.
This marks the Swiss star's 7th title in 2017 and 95th career title, putting him ahead of Ivan Lendl and 2nd on the all-time list behind Jimmy Connors with 109.
Unfortunately, Roger has decided to withdraw from the Paris Masters Tournament.
"My body needs healing. I need to be careful I don't make the same mistake like last year, just over playing it at the end. Nobody wins. I get hurt or I don't play at all anymore next season. I really would like to stay healthy from here going forward."
