ROGER FEDERER NEWS
July 12, 2017 -- Wimbledon, England
Facing the player who took him out of the 2016 Wimbledon, Roger played impressive tennis against Milos Raonic to make his way into the semifinals at the All England Club.
In his 100th match here, the number 6 seed allowed the big serving Canadian few chances to break. Roger hit 46 winners and just 9 unforced errors as he closed out the 6-4, 6-2, 7-6 (4) victory.
Next up will be Tomas Berdych as Roger's biggest rivals, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, have all been taken out in this year's tournament.
"I'm so, so happy to be in another semi here. My dream run continues...we'll see what happens."

After today's win, Roger reaches the Quarterfinals at Wimbledon for the 15th time in his career.
Monday at the All England Club wasn't at all manic for the Swiss Maestro as he made quick work over Grigor Dimitrov with his all-court display. With speed and ease, he had little problems holding serve and took advantage of the Bulgarian's mistakes. Serving strong and his outstanding net play earned him the 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 win.
This will be Roger's 50th Grand Slam Quarterfinal, which is the highest number of quarterfinal appearances in the Open Era. The 7-time Wimbledon Champion will face Milos Raonic next (which is who took him out last year). Raonic has dealt with injuries this season and was pushed to 5 sets in his Round of 16 match against Alexandr Zverev.
“I can look at this quarterfinal in a totally relaxed fashion. Physically I'm not fighting anything like last year with my knee. I'm ready to go this afternoon if I have to, which is great, but I don't have to. I think that's a great bonus,” Roger said. “Then again, the best players are left in the draw. It's going to be a tough one. I'm aware of that. That's why I can't think too far ahead. I think it's going to be a tough finish to this tournament.”

Roger surged into week two at Wimbledon after beating Mischa Zverev in the third round. Having just played the German veteran a couple weeks ago en route to his Halle Championship, the Swiss player swung freely to win the match 7-6 (3), 6-4, 6-4.
With this win, Roger passes WTA star, Serena Williams' record of wins at Wimbledon with 87 match wins at the All England Club.
His next opponent will be Grigor Dimitrov.
"It's important to get through the first week with a good feeling. I didn't get that with the first round walkover, but that saved me energy -- maybe crucial energy, further down the line. I just go one round at a time," said Roger.

With a subdued start to his second round, Roger needed just 90 minutes to put away his second round opponent, Dusan Lajovic. Once the first set reached 6-6, Roger lifted his level to win the breaker 7-0.
From there, the Swiss continued to lift his level and captured the crowd with his near flawless play. He captured the win 7-6 (0), 6-3, 6-2.
Next up for the Swiss Maestro will be Mischa Zverev, who got through his 2nd round match after a 5 set battle.

Roger took to the court at the All England Club and faced the crafty, Alexandr Dolgopolov in the 1st round of Wimbledon.
Roger looked solid while an injured Dolgopolov just didn't have the firepower or consistency to hurt the Swiss star. After 42 minutes, Dolgopolov retired from the match 6-3, 3-0.
During the match, Roger hit 10 aces including his milestone 10,000th ace to become the 3rd man to achieve such an accomplishement. Currently at 10,004 aces in 1294 matches, he sits 3rd on the list behind Goran Ivanisevic and Ivo Karlovic.
Roger will face Dusan Lajovic from Serbia in the 2nd round.
